Why its a great idea to pack the Blaze Boonie Hat

If you’ve spent enough time hunting in thick bush, you know how important it is to strike a balance between visibility and concealment. Too much blaze, and you feel like a walking traffic cone. Too little, and you're at risk of disappearing a little too well—especially in thick Bush with other hunters around. That’s exactly why we always reach for a Blaze Boonie Hat or cap before heading out. It’s the kind of gear that just makes sense: lightweight, protective, and designed to keep you safe without giving away your position to game.

Sun protection is another big one for us. we’ve done enough long sits on open ridges to know that a solid brim can make all the difference in staying comfortable. The wide brim on this hat keeps the sun off your face and neck, and because it’s made from lightweight ripstop fabric, it doesn’t feel like a sauna on my head. Even when pushing through thick scrub, the hat stays put thanks to the adjustable tension cord, which is something we’ve come to appreciate on windy days or when ducking through dense bush.

We've packed this hat into our kits on just about every hunt since it was released, and it’s held up to everything we’ve thrown at it. Rain, sweat, dust—it just keeps going. And because it’s crushable, you can stuff it in your pack without worrying about wrecking it. It’s the kind of gear you don’t have to think about, which is exactly whats needed when out in the bush.

At the end of the day, a good hat isn’t just about comfort—it’s about keeping your head in the game, literally and figuratively. The Blaze Boonie Hat does exactly that, and that’s why it’s earned a permanent spot in our hunting gear. If you’re after something that keeps you safe, comfortable, and covered, it’s a solid choice.

Also available in a Small/Medium size for the kids to help keep them visible and safe from the harsh summer sun.
