Howitt Hoodie
Your New Bush Companion: The Howitt Hoodie
This is a re-design of our previous hoodie, but this time with a full zip. When I first tried the Mk2, I knew it was going to be one of my new favourites.
Funny how you don’t think much about your gear... until it lets you down. Cold before first light, sleeves snagging in thick scrub, or worse — tearing right when you’re miles from the ute with no backup.
That’s exactly why we made this jumper. We’ve spent enough hard, wet, freezing mornings in the bush to know what works and what doesn’t. You get tired of gear that promises the world but gives up when the hunt gets rough — so we built something that doesn’t: The Howitt Hoodie
The fabric’s tough because it has to be. This isn’t city-wear pretending to be bush-ready. It’s proper, tear-resistant, hard-wearing gear made for crawling through blackberry, scrambling gullies, or sliding down clay banks chasing sign.
The camo? Not some overseas pattern made for pine forests or snow country. This is designed for here — our scrub, our ridges, our shadows. It breaks up your shape properly so you melt into the background, whether you’re sitting quiet on a wallow or moving along a game trail.
And the weather — well, we’ve had enough days where the forecast meant nothing. You need to stay dry when the drizzle sneaks in, and warm when the sun’s still an hour off rising. This jumper handles both without a fuss. The exclusive Vapourtech fleece is built to breathe easy and wick away sweat for the life of the garment — no coatings to wash out, no drop in performance. It’s a top choice when you want warmth without the sweat build-up, making it perfect on its own or layered with a Vapourtech Thermal when the winter bite really kicks in.
As for the fit and movement — that didn’t happen by accident. We designed it that way. Made sure it stretches and moves when you do. No tight shoulders when you draw your bow, no binding up when you squat or scramble. It does what it’s meant to — stay out of your way so you can focus on the hunt.
We didn’t make this to sit pretty on a rack. We made it to work. Properly.
The kind of gear you grab every time without thinking.
